New Winter Campaign page launched — practical IPC resources to help all services to prepare and stay resilient

01 Oct 2025

Every winter, health and care services experience additional pressures due to an increase in seasonal viruses. Strong infection prevention and control (IPC) practices are essential for reducing the risk of outbreaks and protecting patients, residents, and staff during this busy period.

To support organisations, ARHAI Scotland, have launched a Winter Preparedness Campaign. Our Winter Preparedness page is now available within the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM).

This page brings together IPC guidance, information, and resources to help services prepare for and manage the most common seasonal infection risks.

How you can help:

  • Please share campaign resources widely across your local networks, via e-bulletins and communication channels.

  • Use the materials provided (e.g. newsletter inserts, infographics, email signature footers) to raise awareness among staff.

  • Encourage colleagues to access the campaign page within the NIPCM to support preparedness and response locally.
